Being aware of our impact and controlling it – CSR at Alterpaint

At Alterpaint, we know that meeting our customers’ requirements would be impossible without taking thorough, in-depth account of the CSR issues involved.

Our economic responsibility

Our first thought is always to keep our customers satisfied

We are aware that when we become our customers’ service provider, we are also becoming their privileged partner, so we work hard to make sure they stay satisfied. We pay particular attention to establishing a relationship of trust in which we can provide relevant and reliable answers.

Making all our locations regional centres of excellence

We are based in the Centre-Val-de-Loire region of France, but we also have a subsidiary in Asia, in Singapore. We commit fully to the regions in which we operate. Wherever possible, we work with local suppliers, to support regional initiatives and businesses.

Transparency and fairness dictate our actions

Our approach to everything is based on trust, because we are keen to foster transparency with our investors. Everyone involved with our group must be able to take informed decisions. Similarly, we apply the fairest pricing possible, to ensure that every party is paid in proportion with what they bring to our products and to our customers.

Our social responsibility

A company driven by the satisfaction of its employees

Because our group is first and foremost founded on the satisfaction of its employees, we strive to improve their quality of life in the workplace (QLW). Our decisions are based on equal rights, diversity and workers’ rights.

Our QLW group addresses issues from three perspectives: team cohesion, improved internal communication and well-being in the workplace

Our staff’s safety is paramount

We devote technical, human and organisational resources (set down in our Single Occupational Risk Assessment Document (DUERP) towards reducing exposure to risks to a minimum. Positions exposed to the greatest risks benefit from equipment to make them more ergonomic (e.g. drum dollies or sliding drawers).

Every year, we review the PARIPRACT, the French Annual Occupational Risk Prevention and Working Conditions Improvement Programme. This undertaking requires us to implement procedures to protect our staff from health problems arising from occupational illnesses and working conditions

A dedicated safety team for transporting hazardous materials

Our business activity involves transporting hazardous materials and means we are subject to regulatory obligations. Since our aim is to go above and beyond current regulatory requirements, we have appointed safety advisers to supervise the transport of our products. These advisers are responsible for preventing risks to staff, goods and the environment, and they can recommend the best practices for transporting goods by road, as well as for packaging, filling and loading.

Our environmental responsibility

An environmental programme

Every year, we draw up a programme to preserve the natural wealth of our environment (by minimising the negative impacts of our business) and reduce energy consumption and emissions.

Respecting our natural resources

We have a system in place to reduce and control our environmental impacts, such as:

  • Life cycle analysis (LCA)
  • Waste management and recycling
  • Optimising energy consumption…

Reducing VOC and CO2 emissions

With the environmental imprint of our products in mind, our staff and our R&D lab work to:

  • Optimise our existing product ranges
  • Develop 100% waterborne products
  • Improve energy performance…
